A South Okanagan resident is celebrating a milestone birthday this week.
Margaret Hack turned 110 on Monday with a private family party planned for the weekend
According to relative Deb Klamut of Penticton, Hack is believed to be the oldest living person in B.C. and the third-oldest in Canada.
The long-living Osoyoos resident was born on May 16, 1906, in Manitoba.
She married the love of her life, Edward Hack, on March 10,1928, in Winnipeg. Although the couple did not have children of their own, they always took in foster children.
They moved to the Oliver/Osoyoos area in the late 1930s and worked as market gardeners.
Hack was also known for her amazing doll collection. She collected Barbie dolls from the beginning, as well as dolls from around the world.
In the 1970s, she and her husband began taking world cruises as well as shorter ones.
Klamut said she kept unbelievable records of their travels in the many photo albums she put together.
As for the secret to her longevity, Klamut said Hack still loves to have a little glass of wine in the afternoon before dinner.
The farm where they had their market garden is now Maverick Estate Winery and Castoro de Oro Estate Winery.
