The 130-hectare Willowbrook fire was 80 per cent contained as of Thursday morning, according to the Oliver Fire Department.
Deputy fire chief Bob Graham said there was a large forestry crew working the fire, as well as a helicopter.
The Oliver Fire Department had four firefighters patrolling houses, but there have been no evacuations.
The B.C. Wildfire Service reports that crews were faced with challenges Wednesday as fire behaviour increased on the south flank.
Graham said, as of Thursday morning, they were getting the fire more under control.
The fire is believed to be lightning caused.
