More Counterfeiting Arrests

Vernon RCMP have two men and a woman in custody after a March 1 raid at a residence netted counterfeiting equipment and explosives. Police searched a house in the 3800 block of Okanagan Avenue in an ongoing counterfeiting investigation.

They seized blank credit cards, identity cards and counterfeiting equipment used for making all manner of counterfeit documents. Also seized were documents themselves and related computer equipment. But police say what surprised them was finding two assembled pipe bombs and related explosive material.

David Bickell, 37, of Maple Ridge, has been charged with breaching his probation. Solomon McLeod, 26, formerly of Grande Prairie, Alta but currently living in Vernon has been charged with possession of explosive substances when prohibited from doing so. Carrie Crittenden, 32, of Chilliwack, faces charges of possession counterfeiting equipment and failing to comply with a court order by possessing credit cards not bearing her name. RCMP are continuing their investigation and expect to lay more criminal charges.
