Dan Oig - No Man's Land

DAN OIG is excited to be embarking on his first cross-Canada tour to promote his second album "Love"! The album shows Dan's experimentation with different genres such as pop, dance, acoustic and folk while still incorporating in his own identity and sound. Influenced by the catchy hooks and melodies of Jack Johnson, Dan creates music that is memorable, upbeat, groovy and sing-able.

"I'm absolutely thrilled about this new album. It's sounding like everything I've ever imagined for my music. Not only that, but I have no doubt it will take you on a ride when you listen to it front to back." Says Dan. The songs on "Love" have all been inspired by his journey, not only as a musician, but also his experiences with the joys of life and the power of Love.

Hailing from Kamloops, BC, Dan got his start right out of high school. In 2008 when Dan was just graduating he recorded a 4-song demo, which featured the track "Everything" which went on to win a local radio songwriting competition. Knowing an album was the next step, Dan recorded and self-released his debut album "Between Us" in late 2009. After a brief hiatus in Toronto to learn more about Canada's music industry, Dan came back to BC refreshed and inspired to get out and start playing and touring. Since October 2010 Dan has been busy, playing weekly shows at venues throughout the Okanagan Valley and building a loyal and steadily growing following.

2011 is proving to be a big year for the singer/songwriter as well. In January, Dan released his first single "Just Feels Right" for which he was nominated for the "People's Choice" Award at the BC Interior Music Awards 2011. On February 25, 2011 Dan organized a well-attended showcase at the Habitat in Kelowna, BC. The event titled KELOWNACOUSTIC showcased Dan Oig and fellow songwriter Thomas Kjorven. The event was so successful; Dan Oig invited Kjorven along for a weekend BC tour with stops in Kelowna, Penticton and Vernon.

Dan truly spread his message to the masses when he played Kelowna Twestival 2011 in late March. The event was broadcasted live over Twitter to over a million people across the world in support of the Kelowna Women's Resource Centre. He has also played Taste of Kelowna 2011 where over 4000 people attended the event. Dan is as ambitious as they come so join this up-and-comer and his journey spreading "Love" across Canada this July 2011.
