Expect heavy traffic

Because of  today’s general election and the Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour, traffic is expected to be heavy around the Kelowna City Hall.

“The polling station at City Hall will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, and time-restricted parking spaces have been reserved all day for voters,” says Corinne Boback, Deputy Chief Election Officer. “We will have voter parking only in the City Hall parking lot off Doyle Avenue and on the 1400 block of Water Street. Parking for people with disabilities is also available.”

Mill Street from Bernard Avenue to Queensway Avenue and Queensway Avenue from Mill Street to Water Street will be closed until 6 a.m. Monday, Nov. 17. This road closure will not affect the Queensway Transit Exchange.

Kelowna Regional Transit is offering free bus service throughout its service area all day Saturday. The public is encouraged to take transit to get out and vote at any of the 13 locations throughout the City.
