Advance voting resumes today

The final round of advance polling for Saturday's Nov 15 municipal elections begins today (Wednesday).

Voting takes place from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.at the designated voting sites in communities in which an advance poll is being held.

Eligible voters do not need to register beforehand.

Two pieces of identification are required, to show who the individual is and where they live – one piece of identification must include a signature.

In order to be eligible to vote, citizens must be:

18 years of age or older on general voting day
a Canadian citizen
a resident of British Columbia for at least six months living, or own property, in the jurisdiction where they intend to vote for at least 30 days
not disqualified under the Local Government Act or any other enactment from voting in a local election or be otherwise disqualified by law.
