Candidates' forums

Penticton voters will have plenty of opportunities  to meet the candidates who are running n the upcoming municipal elections thanks to a series of forums being hosted by the Penticton Herald.

All 25 council candidates have been invited to participate in a councillor candidate forum on Tuesday, Oct. 28 at the Penticton Lakeside Resort beginning at 6:30 p.m.

A mayoral forum is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 30, also at the Lakeside, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Both are co-sponsored with The Herald, Lakeside and Penticton and Wine Country Chamber of Commerce.

On Wednesday, Oct. 29, The Herald is hosting a school board candidate forum at the parish hall at St. Saviour's Anglican Church at 150 Orchard Avenue (beside the Soupateria) beginning at 7 p.m. for the six candidates seeking four spots as Penticton's representative on the Okanagan Skaha School Board.

All three forums will be hosted by Herald managing editor James Miller. Miller has moderated municipal, provincial and federal meetings in Penticton since 2009 as well as a provincial candidates' forum in Summerland in 2009.
