Basran has edge in poll

Colin Basran took the lead over Sharon Shepherd in a Castanet poll on Kelowna mayors this week.

1,442 people responded to the poll which pegged Basran at 52.7 per cent support and Shepherd at 41.75 per cent.

The other candidates took the remaining votes as follows:

  • Sam Condy: 0.49%
  • Chuck Hardy: 1.18%
  • James Murphy: 0.42%
  • Kelly Row: 2.22%
  • Glendon Smedley: 0.76%
  • Mark Thompson: 0.49%

It would be Basran's first term as mayor after serving his first term as a city councillor.

If Shepherd were to win, it would be her third term as mayor of Kelowna.

The election will be held Nov. 15.
