With amnesty on firearms approaching here is a little food for thought.
If a long rifle could tell a story, the hunting story it might tell may make you think twice about having it destroyed by the RCMP.
Perhaps the story of a father or grandfather taking his son or grandson on a hunting trip or harvesting their first deer, moose or elk.
I know that some rifles might have a bad story behind them like how it had to protect its owner from being mauled from a bear or how it protected a hen house from some wily coyote and it also may tell a story about how it protected a soldier in one of the great wars
So if you have an unwanted fire arm please think twice about having it destroyed. First you may want to contact a local fish and game club such as the Oceola Fish and Game Club where it would be used for a firearm safety classes or for the hunter training program.
Another thing you may consider is contacting a gunsmith such as Weber and Markin; you could be sitting on few hundred dollars
