In response to MB's comments I would like to point out that even though you feel they should be saving the life of a human, how do you know that she doesn't want to live? You don't, however her husband who has been with her for several years has a better idea what is best for her than you or I do.
I know if I was a vegetable and many other people would concur, they would rather rest peaceful than in a state of uncertainty and pain. She is unable to express pain because of the state she is in.
You cannot tell me that is a good way to enjoy life. Unless you like to lay in bed 24 hours a day and do nothing. Do you honestly think this was an easy choice for her husband to make?
The parents are being selfish because they don't want to let go and prefer her in existence rather than the other option. The only person who knows what's best is Terri however she can't speak so the people surrounding her are the people who would know what she wants.
As for pain, she has been alive for several years not able to express pain. How do you know she hasn't suffered enough already?
