Barking up the wrong tree

I am writing with great concern over your bylaws and your methods in dealing with recent dog cases.

It would seem that some educating needs to be done for and by each and every one of the elected officials with RDCO, beginning with the dog control "officer" and all the way to the top.

You people are elected on a "popularity" vote.  Right now, I doubt that that popularity rating is very high with many of your constituents.

What is happening is pathetic, to say the least.  Obviously, your "dog expert" is not the expert she claims to be, but rather a puppet to be used by RDCO.

All of you, your bylaws and your methods have come into question in the past months, and I do believe changes need to be made immediately.

Maybe some of you are dog owners, maybe some are dog haters and maybe, just maybe, some of you are neighbours/instigators like the people in the cases of Shadow and Diesel.

I would ask that you each step back and take a look at yourselves and the situations in question.

Take a look at spending court time on such things, it is far too easy for people to sue over any little thing any more and in these situations there are many other solutions than killing.

Yes, there are many fanatics about many things, but maybe try to listen to the general feelings of the people in your ridings....not just the ones that hold some "clout" in your eyes.

Deep down, you have to know that this is wrong in so many ways, and you have to listen to all of the people and stop this.

I would hope that all of the notoriety in these cases would spur change.  I would hope that you will listen and actually hear what people are saying, rather than making sure you don't have "mud on your faces" which, by the way, I believe you already do!
