Why Support Missile Defence?

I just finished reading C.J's letter and all I got out of it was the fact that your family has had some people fight in previous wars (most families have) and that you don't agree with Canada's stance on missile defence.

Not anywhere do you show reasons why we should support this action. Just because we have fought in the past, really has nothing to do with the PM's decision. Or does it? You see, most of us are ignorant to this topic. So, since you have an opinion, why don't you actually give a REAL reason for why we should support this.

And why not print your full name? You have an opinion, yet you really don't fully give it. Enlighten us, then maybe some of us can make an informed decision on this. But right now, your reason isn't good enough for this reader.
