Marlon Bartram's comments about abortion and the displaying of photographs of aborted babies are completely out of line. What Mr. Bartram fails to understand is that most people with an opinion on the matter already know what happens during an abortion. It is disgusting and unnecessary to display these photographs. Ever watched a live birth Mr. Bartram? Not too pretty either.
The fact of the matter is that not all people who choose to have an abortion do it because they don't want a baby. Some want one desperately, but are forced to abort due to medical reasons. Viewing these images could make what is already a difficult decision excruciating, and cause far more mental trauma to the patient.
Also, Marlon, as a member of the community who can not actually ever get pregnant and therefore can not understand the mindset of a woman in this position, you really have a distorted view of the subject. It's like a single person with no children writing a book on family and child rearing.
As a woman who has chosen to undergo an abortion for both medical and emotional reasons, I find it disgusting that anyone else should try to tell you what to do in this situation. This matter is as personal as they come and by adding your photographs and fighting to make the procedure even more difficult to obtain, you obviously have no respect for women and their bodies.
To carry a child has serious ramifications on a woman's body - back and pelvic displacement, bladder and urinary problems, hormonal imbalance - all of which can seriously affect the carrier of the child throughout the pregnancy and the years that follow.
I do not regret my decision to abort my unborn child, it had to be done and in hindsight, it really was for the best as I was not financially or physically able to carry, deliver and care for the baby at that time in my life.
Unfortunately for you Mr. Bartram, abortion is not illegal and so your wanting to erect your pathetic photographs as an opportunity to inflict pain on a woman already faced with enough of it is simply a form of cruel and unusual punishment.
