Then why walk out?

Trustee Chris Gorman stated in writing "Central Okanagan Teachers understand their responsibilities and they work tirelessly in the interests of our children."

If that were truly the case, there would be no strike.

I propose next time the teachers can't get their issues together like grown ups, instead of acting like children and walking off the job in a huff, we allow the parents of school district 23's children to vote if we should 'allow' strike action or not.

After all, we the parents - the taxpayers - do pay your wages. You seem to forget who you work for.

You don't work for the province, or the school district. We the parents are your real employers and I think it's time you showed us and our children some respect.

You chose the job. You knew the issues.

You're example to our children is shameless. As parents we work so hard to instill in our children that temper tantrums get no results.

Then you teachers go ahead and stage a public temper tantrum.

All you've done is shown you're true colours - you're no more mature than the children you teach.
