I am writing in response to an article announcing the approval for a full-time critical care emergency helicopter service for the Interior.
Our family lives in Blind Bay, close to Salmon Arm, and we have been recipients of the fast response of these caring professionals.
Our daughter, facing a life-limiting disease, was air-lifted to Kamloops by helicopter in late April, then flown in the Province’s medical jet to the Edmonton Stollery hospital.
Once there, she underwent an emergency surgery.
We hope the surgery contributes to additional time while we await medical advances.
We are privileged to have such care, to live in this country, and to have a government that is choosing a noble cause – life. We applaud Premier Christy Clark and her colleges for supporting this initiative.
