Recent news stories have shown us horrific disasters, hardship, death and carnage. We see orphaned children, families wiped out and people with real fear in their eyes. I wonder how anyone can watch or support so-called reality shows like, Survivor, Fear Factor, or Who’s Your Daddy?
These programs show people dangling out of buildings or eating insects or finding their fathers with the hopes of a large cash prize. At no time were their lives in danger and they can all safely go home to their families at the end. I think of the thousands of people who experienced the recent tsunami where Fear Factor, Survivor, and “Where’s My Daddy” were reality when there was no cash prize, food, water, home, family, or means of livelihood at the end.
This is reality and those other TV shows discredit the name reality and have no place in our society.
