Sometimes most of us don't really understand why things are the way they are.
Our Canadian troops are currently in far off lands fighting and dying for other Nations rights and freedoms. These are the same rights and freedoms that our fathers, grandfathers, and great grandfathers wanted for us.
Yet our Municipal, Provincial, and Federally elected officials all seem to change once they get into office, changing or altering things that most of us don't want changed.
We have a law in BC that says drinking and driving while over .08 is illegal yet drivers' cars can be impounded if the driver is .05.
We have prostitutes on the streets of Kelowna and all over BC, actively and openly selling themselves to those who drive by and massage parlours for those who would prefer to drop in.
Yet a mom, dad and kids go to the beach in the summer, act responsibly, take out their sandwiches and a cold beer and police on ATV's humiliate them and confiscate their beer.
We have rampant organized crime here in Kelowna and throughout BC that are easily identifiable to our citizens and law enforcement yet we pass a law that makes it illegal to smoke in a public park when you are walking your dog at 9:00 pm.
Our children's computers have unlimited access to pornography, bigotry, or even bomb making, yet a person who drives in an HOV lane, forgets to buckle up or heaven forbid, answer a cell phone is hit with a very large fine.
The cost of the investigation and trial of Robert William Pickton has cost millions, yet the minimum wage in BC cannot be raised because we can't afford it.
Are governments really changing rules, regulations, and laws that British Columbians and all of Canada want changed or dancing around the circle of change and afraid to address the real issues?
