Protect environment in city
Re: IMP issues on Munson Pond and Kelowna Springs Golf Course
I am pleased the City of Kelowna is open to discussing the issues surrounding developments through Munson Pond and the Kelowna Springs Golf Course.
These issues are important to discuss in order to protect our environment. Those who listened to the statements made at Monday’s city council meeting by engineers and scientists heard the importance of keeping the golf course intact as it is an important flood plain for the area surrounding as well as the wetland thats crucial for our environment.
That was free advice offered by extremely qualified professionals in our community and it was delivered at no charge to the city. We must listen and it's important enough to reverse past decisions.
In life, it’s always about doing the right thing. Doing so frees one from any blame or conflict that may arise. Kelowna is our city and climate change is real. Going forward, we must make decisions that protect our environment. Please be active and write to city councillors regarding these issues or better still, attend council meetings.
We need positive action to assure the right decisions are made. Look into your heart and think about the world we are building for our children and grandchildren.
