Manufacturing fear
Re. Lloyd Vinish’s letter, What about property rights (Castanet, Feb 5)
Don't take (the letter) as a warning. Ordinary court-reviewed government powers are being rebranded as tyranny to manufacture fear.
Regulation isn’t confiscation, disagreement isn’t oppression and democracy isn’t quietly dying because someone dislikes the outcomes.
When every policy in the letter is framed as a rights apocalypse, the argument stops being serious.
