Proposed Alberta separation
Re. Alberta separation
I would like Alberta to stay within our country Canada. Definitely oppose any interference from the United States. We have a beautiful diverse home we call Canada.
Charlotte Hammann
Do (Alberta separation) advocates know what’s involved in a province leaving Canada?
What will it use for money? It’ll have to establish a treasury and produce some sort of funding. What about a national security force? What about social security?
Do they know how much land is available as a province? Do the indigenous people not “own” a substantial amount of Alberta, similar to Quebec? There are a lot questions.
I think B.C. could do quite well without any relationship with Alberta.
Chuck O'Fallon
Let it go but (Canada) should retain the right to free passage on the roads and highway.
Randy Clements
It is disgusting how anyone could think of breaking up such an incredible country and beyond me.
I worked on drilling rigs for 20 years and it was never talked about before because it was such a minority but now (Alberta Prosperity Project spokeman) Jeffrey Rat is a mouthpiece, you hear it more because he says there will be no taxes and no income tax. It is very (U.S. President Donald) Trump-like.
The fact (Alberta separatists) have been going behind Canada's back is, in my opinion, treasonous. (Albert Premier) Danielle Smith is stoking this fire to stay in power.
Kirk Reid
I think it would be a sad day to break up our beautiful Canada.
Stand together in these troubling times. It’s been a rough go with the recent turmoil, causing doubt, frustrations and anger.
We can’t change past prime minsters ignoring the West but we can march forward and make it a better tomorrow by working together.
