Boo Hoo to the lastest fire victims in Rutland!
Don't get me wrong, I feel terrible for the family, but please! Let all us responsible people and parents help pay for it?
If you make the decision not to carry insurance, that is your choice! I can't really afford my insurance, but a few hundred dollars a year compared to losing everything is a small price to pay. Besides, if the single mother at the home left obviously irresponsible children alone, then why should everyone else pay for it? Where was the parent at night that her children were left home alone? Not at work considering she lost her job. Hopefully she gets her children some help too. It is not illegal to smoke at age 13, but very harmful at least.
It is up to each and every one of us to be responsible for our own mistakes. It is really nice how our community tries to pull together and help one another, but if we all helped in every one of these cases, all of us would need help.
