It is unfortunate that people still can't comprehend homeowner insurance or contents insurance.
I realize for some, the cost of insurance is prohibitive. This is a risk they are willing to take. We all make sacrifices in life. The risk of losing everything versus the sacrifice of something else. My daughter goes to school with 2 of the girls that were carelessly smoking. Sure, this is an accident that anyone of any age could make, but let's not laugh about it - I think any money given to this family should be used for counselling.
It is apparent that this family should receive some direction in life to better themselves, rather than to go out and replace Christmas presents, clothes and furniture and carry on life doing what they have learned in the past. An event such as this should be a life lesson, not just an opportunity to go out shopping.
