RE:Wood smoke takes your breath away
I can understand how difficult it must be to have conditions that make it difficult to live with smoke, wood or otherwise. I can understand this person's right to breathe clean air. What about the rights of others? What about their right to enjoy their leisure time with family/friends around a good old campfire for an hour or two in their own yard and in their own space?
If the neighbors are having a little campfire in their back yard, suck it up for the evening and let them enjoy a couple hours. I am sure the writer of the "Woodsmoke Danger" letter had a wiener roast or two in her time.
What about the people that use wood to heat their homes, cutting down on the exorbitant costs of utilities?
EVERYTHING, and I mean everything, causes cancer these days...and every day more and more rights are taken away from the average TAX PAYER under the guise of it being "dangerous to our health."
Maybe BC isn't the place for someone with severe allergies to live, as there is smoke every summer from forest fires and many many homes are heated with wood...as well as sawmills, etc. Last I heard, it isn't possible to make a law against lightning storms.
