In reply to those people who say dandelions are the first pollinators for bees, I beg to differ.
I have many shrubs and plants in my yard that are in bloom at the same time as dandelions and many flowers are in bloom during the summer to allow bees to thrive. I hazard a guess that all those people out there with yards overgrown with dandelions aren’t doing it for the bees.
I also grow a large garden and preserve the bulk of what I grow for the winter months. I share many vegetables with family and friends.
Should people who try to make their yards look nice be penalized because they try to keep the dandelions under control?
