(On the federal election campaign trail) Bloc Quebecois Leader Yves-François Blanchet called Canada an artificial country, but I’m pretty sure he wants (Quebec) to keep all the benefits of the country.
In particular, maybe Quebec should stop taking the billions of dollars in “artificial” transfer payments from the rest of Canada (especially Alberta) and recognize the financial reality that Quebec is, by far, a net taker of benefits from government coffers.
The days of Canada being afraid o f Quebec’s “artificial” threats to separate are over.
