Bike lanes not confusing

As there are no shortage of complaints about the bike lane (in Penticton) from non-bike lane users, I’d like to share one of many reasons they are the minimum for future travel.

Three times in one day, while not using the bike lanes, vehicles either stopped or slowed to a “baby-carriage” speed because drivers were confused and scared by the lane.

Three feet isn’t enough for their driving skills to pass me, so they slow or stop traffic. “New” and “confusing” doesn’t mean you get to do as you please. The bike lanes remove that issue completely.

Also, we seem to give anyone a driver’s license, whether they can drive or not and then people seem to think they are owed something because they have spent more money. Nonsense, we are all taxpayers.

James Carter, Penticton
