Says bike lanes not used
Re. Brian Hughes letter, Bike lanes and byelection (Castanet, March 24)
If the Penticton bike lanes were used, I would agree with the writer of the letter.
How many people use the bike lanes? I rarely see people biking in those lanes. If (the writer) thinks students are going to use them, I cannot don’t. Poll students and get a better idea how many intend to use them.
Just because something costs less than it would in a few years, but goes unused (now) is not a brilliant move by any stretch of the imagination.
We heard that once they are completed, they would be used. Let’s see the result before any more bike lanes are constructed.
I would also like to know where the writer got the cost of construction. He did not mention the cost of maintaining the bike lanes.
I am all in for progress, if the facts support it.
