(Alberta Premier) Danielle Smith met with Prime Minister Mark Carney and what does she do? List demands by Alberta like it’s a separate nation.
The UCP and it "Alberta First" mantra is just code for "Canada last." Smith and her crew are the epitome of “self-firsters,” always playing the victim while holding their hand out for federal cash.
They want all the benefits of being part of Canada but none of the responsibilities. It’s exhausting. Alberta’s constant whining about equalization, pipelines and fairness ignores the fact Confederation is about all of us, not just them. The UCP’s anti-Canada rhetoric is divisive, dangerous, and downright tiresome.
Alberta can’t pick and choose what parts of Canada it wants to be part of. Equalization helps all provinces and if Alberta wants changes, it needs to work with everyone else. Federal money should go to projects that help the whole country, not just Alberta’s oil and gas industry.
Alberta has done well in the past thanks to Canada. It can’t take the good and ignore the rest. The federal government should work on bringing Canadians together, not letting Alberta pull us apart.
Alberta’s constant tantrums are getting old. It’s time for the UCP to grow up and start acting like part of Canada, not a spoiled teenager demanding the keys to the car.
