Tax not axed, just not paid

The federal carbon tax has not been axed.

(Prime Minister Mark) Carney signed an Order in Council to reduce the amount of carbon tax collected to zero. The tax law is still in effect and can be brought back with a simple Order in Council to begin collecting it again at any price (the government) chooses.

The only way the carbon tax can be eliminated is by a majority vote in Parliament. Carney can not remove the carbon tax law without Parliament.The law was voted in and so, must be voted out.

Do not be fooled by this slight-of-hand.
