Stand up for Canada

(U.S. President) Donald Trump continues his bashing of our country and is now talking more about the annexation of Canada.

God knows what we did to him. A Grade 6 student can figure out very quickly it is for our natural resources. The U.S. needs them and do not want to purchase them.

I sit and wonder why our old real allies have not come forward and supported us in a possibly very serious time. We did for them. In 1914, Canada was a small nation but we jumped into the First World War to fight in a European War. My Grandad fought in that one for four years.

In 1939, my father did the same thing in the Royal Canadian Navy for for years.It was somebody else's war but that is who we were.

Where is the UK with its support? Where is France, Belgium, The Netherlands and Poland, to name just a few countries? We went thousands of miles to have our soldiers die on foreign beaches in support of our allies and their freedom. We could certainly use their economic support, military, and negotiating skills to help us now in our time of need.

Let’s forget about NATO. It is useless. The Russia-Ukraine war could have been stopped but Nato was afraid to fire a bullet. Russia is not looking for cabbages in Ukraine, it wants natural resources and territory Ukraine.

The U.S. is doing the exact same thing. It’s a bully.

Europe must step forward, like Canada, Australia and others did in the same circumstances (in the past).
