Halloween my sons bike was stolen from the McDonald's in Glenmore. A few days later while at a friends house he saw a teenage boy riding HIS
bike, get off the bike and go into his house, my son and friends went to
take a closer look at the bike to make sure and sure enough it was his bike
with spray painted handle bars my son had done himself for his bike to stand out.
He came home rushing in with so much excitement that he found his bike, but
he says, mom I'm scared is it alright I took my bike? Will I be in trouble?
Scared he would get in trouble for taking back his own bike.
The boy was confronted with his parent and the police were sent to put a bit of a scare into the teenager. The parent was defensive and in denial but whats next a car? Yes!
Great lesson learned here for my boy, lock bikes at all times for any length of time even 5 minutes. Never give up searching and checking all avenues. More than just my son got a lesson here. Maybe the teenage boy and his parent did also, I hope so truly.
