Spend to fix overdose crisis

The overdose crisis (in B.C.) cannot be fixed by Band-Aids.

The current plan of throwing (ideas) at the wall and seeing if any stick isn’t working.

What the government and people need to realize is this is a massive investment we need to make to finally have a viable solution to this problem.

Currently, there is no plan in place to fix this growing epidemic. It has been nothing but failed policies. We need to make a massive investment into rehabilitation, doctors, nurses and mental health. That is the only way we will beat this.

We live in a society where people don’t want their money to be used for “socialism”. Sadly, our only option is to put some serious money into this problem. Our current policies are failing, not only us but those who are disenfranchised.

Give these people a sense of hope and purpose and maybe we can help them to become a productive members of society.

This isn’t going to be like the old television show I Dream of Genie, where we wiggle our noses and the problem is fixed. This is going to take years and years and millions, if not billions, of dollars to solve this (problem.)
Our governments need to realize this. The people need to realize this. This is our only solution.

No more Band-Aids. This is full-on emergency surgery that needs to be handled with the utmost care and priority.
