More water on wildfires
Re.Poll: Does B.C. need to come up with a new way to fight wildfires? (Castanet, May14)
In a nutshell, governments need to invest in the proper equipment for extinguishing wildfires.
Fires should never be allowed to get out of control, and the only way to do this is by dumping far more water than what is currently used.
I wrote to the B.C. government four years ago with a detailed plan. My opinion is governments are not willing to invest the amount of money required.
I left B.C. nearly two years ago, mostly because of the health dangers associated with wildfire smoke, which is underestimated in my opinion.
