Even though the B.C. NDP (government) decided it's not a good idea to allow public use of illegal drugs in our parks or other public spaces, Premier David Eby still won't cancel the three-year decriminalization policy his government brought in.
I say cancel it now because the drugs are illegal, so use of them should be as well, no matter how small an amount.
Eby also thinks drug users shouldn't be arrested as it does them no good to go to court, be fined or jailed. Who cares, it does society good that we don't have to deal with high people in stores, at work, driving or just in general.
If they have a drug problem put them in a mandatory rehab facility until they are cured. Don't expect society to just tolerate their awful habits.
Being a drug addict may be considered a medical condition but for the most part it's a self-imposed one as it was the person's poor choice that led to their situation. Coddling addicts will never cure the. Proper treatment will.
Of course, that means building facilities and having a government that doesn't cave in to special interests, which the NDP are known to do.
If the NDP (government) can't control drug addicts, then we need a B.C. government that can.
