Spend at home first

Re. Aging infrastructure and supporting kids

I read the news and the first headline was $100,000 to the Elizabeth Fry Society for a anti-domestic violence unit. (It received a) big thumbs up, which got me to thinking. Summerland needs $100,000 for a new public pier. Lumby needs $100,000 for upgrading its hockey arena infrastructure for kids.

When we start looking around B.C., many communities are in need of these upgrades and supports for community organizations. For the billions of dollars politicians spend on who knows what, and where, wouldn’t it be better to start at home?

Unfortunately, politicians like the sound of $3.02 billion going to a country (Ukraine) that many of us will never travel to.

Let’s get back to basics, start at home and help local communities.
