Hospitals not for illicit drugs
Re. Drug use area in hospitals (Castanet, April 11)
I do not believe patients should have a designated room in hospitals for drug use.
Hospitals should not be considered as a drug-use zone. What is next—a set-up a room to drink alcohol?
What about the safety of nurses and other patients who run safety risks if said individual goes off the wall, so to speak? Do you really think that noxious vapors are not going to circulate? Nurses are not there to monitor drug use.
We already have safe sites for the drug use.
Do patients in recovery from surgery or other medical problems have no rights at all (when it comes to) their safety?
