Re. New complex care, supportive housing project revealed in Kelowna (Castanet, April 15)
The City of Kelowna is going to donate $4million worth of land to build 40 units of (complex care social) housing?
The property is roughly 1.7 acres.
On two different properties in Rutland next to my home—one acre and 0.8 acres respectively—developers are building 250 units of housing.
If we are talking about 40 units on this 1.7-acre property in the Landmark/Capri urban centre, at $4,000,000 in land value, that is $100,000 per unit just for the land.
Does anyone else see something wrong with this picture?
