Banning junk food in schools? Great idea! I am a teacher at a school here in Kelowna and our school has already taken all the pop out of the machines and replaced them with other nutritious drinks like milk. Yummy milk! Have you tried the Cookies 'N Cream milk? Coffee Crisp milk? I'm glad the district nutritionists have educated us to make healthier choices!
Ummm.....hold on........let's see.....a can of Coke has somewhere between 30-40g of sugar.....these "milks" have over 50g! So instead of getting just empty sugar calories in the pop, kids can now get even more sugar, some fat and some cholesterol. This will do a lot "to improve the health and physical fitness of children"! But hey, at least there's some calcium in there to build strong bones.
Too bad we can't ask the kids if they would like that super-sized!
