Wants a city gas tax

Traffic congestion, climate change, and property taxes are killing us, literally.

As a disclaimer, I do drive, cycle, walk, and pay property taxes in Penticton. I can do my part to address the congestion and climate change, but reducing my property tax bill is not possible.

Perhaps the city should look at a substantial municipal gas tax to give (residents) a property tax break, and reduce traffic and our carbon footprint as well.

I never thought I would request a new tax.

George Murai, Penticton
