Re: A Mullins letter Aid not a boondoggle (Castanet, Sept. 20)
I would contest the statement in A. Mullins letter that the government in Canada did an admirable job helping Canadians with financial aid and COVID-19 information and it was superior to the "useless" (former U.S. president Donald) Trump (administration) in 2020.
If you call business bankruptcies, a prime minister promoting divisiveness (re. vaccine choice), suspension of chartered rights, outright deception to citizens and heavy handed mandates an “admirable job” by our government, then I’m not sure what a bad job would look like.
As far as the “useless" Trump administration, remember it was that (administration) that provided a vaccine for Covid—albeit its efficacy can be debated.
Canada doesn’t even have a vaccine production facility.
