'Victim culture warriors'

I have swung between voting Liberal and Conservative (federally) in the past many times, but I just can't consider the Conservatives anymore.

The (party’s) entire identity is based on outrage and whining over perceived cultural issues day by day, based on who it follows on social media.

In this case, it's passports. The (current) government removed the picture of Terry Fox from passports, and these “victim culture warriors” perceive this as some type of "cancellation." They are completely ignorant of the fact it was the Liberal government that created those designs in the first place.

Under (former Conservative Prime Minister Stephen) Harper, it was a generic maple leaf (on passport pages).

(Editor's note: While it is correct Canadian passports had generic maple leaf-adorned pages for most of the years the Conservatives under Stephen Harper were in government, it was under his government in 2013 the design, featuring pictures of iconic Canadian people and places, was introduced. It was not done by the current Liberal government, first elected in 2015.)

Also, two years ago, my wife came to me just prior to flying out for a vacation and told me her passport had expired and she hadn't even realized. Much like my wife, no one even thinks about or cares about their passport until they actually need to travel.

The fact that these “virtue signallers” are up in arms considering this shows just how simple and sensitive they are. Grow up.
