I read the story about the extra funds that the city of Kelowna will receive from the province.
Mayor Gray's comment was that he did not know where the extra funds would go. He also stated that the city already spends 13 million for policing.
My concern is that the money we spend now in my opinion is not enough, as the police are overworked, and because of this overlook a lot of what goes on like the selling of drugs in public places, crime and violence tied to the drug trade and prostitution etc.
It is no wonder that groups like the hells angles want to come here because there are no cops.
The cops that we do have a spread so thin that they don't even worry the criminals.
In closing I most strongly urge the Mayor, and councillors to spend the money on more cops.
