Upon visiting Castanet.net recently, I read the article about the sex offender who is on the loose in the Vernon area. What really makes me upset is that this man was assessed as a "high risk to re-offend" and yet he was let out on a day pass to never return.
I don't understand a system that would deem someone a high risk and let him or her out for even a minute. Why do they even consider these sex offenders for parole? If this man does re-offend, shame on our justice system for letting the public down once again!
