Humans ahead of animals

Re. Helen Schiele’s letter Respect nature (Castanet, Jan. 11)

I have a question for (the writer). I was wondering if she might be willing to sacrifice her own family for the sake of our "overpopulation" crisis?

(Hers was a) very interesting take on the issue. I certainly would not line my family up to be shot in the head over my love for nature. I doubt Helen would either. She might need to do some more research on that one before spewing such anti-human ideas, especially when her comparison to wolves makes little sense.

We are conscious beings, wolves do not meet that criterion, not to mention the world population decline with the rise in educated women pursuing careers over families. But, fret not Helen, (while some) people have been brainwashed out of having babies already, your article has not dissuaded me.
