The wage demand from PSAC is laughable. When was the last time you called the Revenue Service agency and got an answer? How about talking to a real person? How long have you sat on hold waiting for someone to respond to you? Has anybody out there been treated with respect and dignity by the government worker (whose wages I help to pay!!) who tends to talk at you, not with you?
And then there's trying to get to see or talk with someone at break-time, lunch time or, heaven forbid--end of the day. At 3:59:59 they're outta there. Just have to wait until the next day and with any luck you might get to see or speak with a real person. Come on. Give me a break. B.C. has the highest taxes in Canada and our government employees are well paid. Perhaps the government could see fit to educate many of the employees in personal relations and manners - then, when they start acting like public servants they can get the raise they want.
