I can't agree more with Darren Schmidt's comments regarding special treatment for "special people."
Along the same lines, Ms. Hawkins was given many liters of ink, both here at Castanet and in the Courier.
How many other people out there would have preferred her to just endure her personal battle as they have done, in private with family and friends.
I'm very empathetic of her tragedy and pleased for her about a recovery. But enough was enough.
There are many persons who daily endure discomfort and pain, all without going public. I wish all of them the strength to overcome.
