Street lights needed

Here is an idea for Penticton city council. Instead of wasting money on bike lanes that go unused, disrupt traffic and are an eyesore, try spending money on new street lights.

Have any councillors tried to walk down Padmore Street at night? And (there are) many more poorly lit streets in our city.

By spending money on lighting, it will actually will stop crime. What a thought, eh?

With recent stories of women being followed, we need better lighting on those dark streets. The bad guys do not like light as they can be seen and know they are not safe to break into homes and steal property from yards if they can be seen casing homes on well-lit streets.

Let’s put tax money into projects like this.

I hope we have the chance to replace the (current) councillors who do not listen to taxpayers and push their own agendas.

I will be vote for any “clean streets” (candidate) who runs in this election, as they have the right idea and actually care about our city.

I cannot wait for the election.
