Re. Candice McKendry's letter Tree poisoner in area? (Castanet, Aug. 4)
(This is) one of the best letters I've ever seen on Castanet.
The author is bang on with this not being vandalism at all but someone very close by wanting to get rid of this 60-year-old tree for their own selfish reasons.
I would love to see (the person responsible) fined $50,000 for doing this but good luck proving it without some eyewitness testimony.
It’s just another sad case of our current society.
