Rights with responsibilities

Re.: Trucker funds frozen (castanet, Jan. 25)

I disagree with the trucker's actions. It further undermines the efforts taken by responsible citizens who have been vaccinated in order to curb the virus.

Truckers and everyone else need to understand and remember rights are always accompanied by responsibilities.

If you want the "right" to cross the border (and I use quotations because no one has that as a right), you must accept the responsibility go comply with federal regulations on both sides (of the border).

If you abdicate the responsibility to act in the best interests of your fellow citizens, then you forfeit the right to complain.
