COVID hospitalizations

I often wonder if Canada still cares about social equality.

I thought this was one of our country's fundamental core values; yet, here we go again, vaccine passports are likely to be extended.

Sure, it's not 100% decided yet, but the language being spoken is signalling an extension.

And what exactly is the purpose of the passport? It's claimed that the unvaxxed are the culprits of spreading the virus, yet we are all aware that the vaccines do not stop anyone from potentially catching or spreading the virus.

With Omicron, that is more evident than ever, with the majority of the "breakthrough" cases now being among the vaccinated.

The health officials claim the unvaxxed are making up more of the hospitalizations, yet a previous announcement from (B.C. provincial health officer Dr.) Bonnie (Henry) admitted they have incomplete data on hospitalizations, and I quote,"Right now, B.C. is counting everyone in the hospital with a COVID positive test as a hospitalization."

That means, they have no idea who is there with COVID or because of COVID, despite reporting everyone who tests positive as a COVID hospitalization. This is clearly misleading data. Despite that, they are able to claim the unvaxxed are causing higher amounts of hospitalizations when that has yet to be proven at this stage of the pandemic.

Oddly, these passports are only needed in certain locations. The unvaxxed can enter a crowded grocery store, but not a socially distanced gym or restaurant.

It's nonsensical, unscientific and it goes against one of the fundamental core values of Canada—social equality.
